DBM releases P15-M SARO for Agas-agas repair
DBM approved the immediate release of P15M SARO (Special Allotment Release Order) during an emergency meeting with Cong. Aniceto G. Saludo, Jr.
The meeting was made because of the worsening conditions at the Agas-agas section of the Pan-Pacific highway in Sogod. The increased rainfall last week had made this vital road section serving one of the two routes of vehicles from Luzon and northern Visayas to the ferry terminal to Mindanao in Liloan.
Budget and Management Sec. Emilia T. Boncodin in an earlier meeting with Saludo promised this release after the congressman explained the urgency to complete the repairs, otherwise, the initial releases in the amount of P 7.5 M will be for naught.
On the other hand, Saludo said that talks are still on-going for the repair of the San Miguel section to complete the rehabilitation efforts.
