Odong secures 5M agri projects for S. Leyte

Congressman Aniceto Saludo, Jr. secured five million pesos worth of post-harvest facilities for the province of Southern Leyte from the Department of Agriculture (DA).

Saludo said that after working closely with DA, seven types of facilities have finally been approved for release to his constituents.

In a recent signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between Saludo and Agriculture Regional Director Leo Cañeda, it was revealed that thirty-eight (38) barangays and one (1) cooperative have been selected to benefit from the said project.  The thirty-nine (39) beneficiaries will receive post-harvest facilities, such as multi-purpose drying pavement, rice thresher, cassava processor, mechanical dryer, abaca stripping machine, oven copra dryer and an agri-van.

“It is highly important that we continue acquiring equipment such these to further improve production in Southern Leyte.  And I guarantee my constituents that efforts to strengthen agricultural production would be given a high priority,” Saludo said.
